News

This Section provides news and information from various sources, namely:

The Central Bedfordshire Neighbourhood Watch Association

Bedfordshire Police Beds Alert Messaging Service

Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch Network (NHWN)

Other relevant News from Community Safety Partners and Organisations

Every attempt will be made to keep this Section up to date, but like many Websites, it can be a constant problem to report everything in a timely manner and some delays may occur.  Each News item will be appropriately dated and will be removed once that information is no longer valid, or space needs to be freed up.

The Central Bedfordshire Neighbourhood Watch Association

Information will be provided on the activities of the Association, together with news reports from the various NHW areas in Central Bedfordshire.  Additionally, notes of meetings will be included either as an abridged news item, or will be attached as a stand alone document.

Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch Network (NHWN)

From time to time the National Neighbourhood Watch and Home Network (NHWN) publish “alerts” from their “Our Watch” website.  These “alerts” provide useful information to existing NHW Schemes, as well as the general public.  The issues vary, but focus on home security, community action projects and  news items connected to the operation and administration of NHW throughout the UK.  Where considered significant, they will be copied into this Section either as an abridged news item, or will be attached as a stand alone document.

Beds Alert

Beds Alert is a community messaging system run by Bedfordshire Police, which provides residents with details of criminal activity in specified local areas, as well as general information related to the Police. Important messages will be copied into this Section, especially when they refer to significant crime incidents, or where the information is of general interest to NHW members and the general public, alike.
